A little imagination. A class full of possibilities.
An imaginary thread. A chair. An idea from a child. Watch real Rainbow Yoga lessons, try a playful minute, then picture what you could bring into your own classes.
You can start with our 50-hour Level 1 foundation or choose the 145-hour Full Journey through Levels 1 and 2. Let the experience help you find your next step.
This is an extract from a real Level 2 lesson. Notice how Gopala brings seated movement into a school setting.
Try a small seated sequence
Choose a stable chair and a comfortable sitting position. Notice the space around you and keep your breathing easy.
Gently open through your chest, then return to a comfortable middle position. Choose how small you want the movement to be.
Softly round your upper back, then return. Try opening and rounding again in your own comfortable range.
Pause and invite a choice: another gentle movement, quiet sitting or watching the group.
There is no breath hold or pose to force. When teaching children, choose suitable chairs, keep space clear and offer ways to join in that fit your group.
Picture your class: which small adaptation could make an activity more welcoming in your setting?
The Full Journey brings both levels together: build your foundation, then go deeper into creative sequencing, group connection and practical adaptations. Level 2 includes Additional Needs and Anatomy & Physiology. Coursework, teaching practice and assessment help you develop your skills.

Try an imaginary thread
Sit or stand with room to move. One person imagines holding a thread; the other chooses where it could lead a gentle movement.
Let the imaginary thread rise, float sideways or become wonderfully wiggly. The person moving chooses how to respond.
Swap leaders. Try an idea you have not tried before.
Let the thread settle. Share one thing you enjoyed or would change next time.
No thread is attached to anyone, and no pulling or touching is needed. Watching and suggesting an idea are ways to join too. When teaching children, adapt the pace and space to your group and supervise throughout.
Picture your class: what could an imaginary thread become when the children invent the next idea?
Level 1 is the 50-hour foundation. You can begin without a previous yoga-teaching qualification. Learn at your own pace, explore practical class planning, and develop your teaching through practice and assessment.

Choose the 145-hour Full Journey when you want both levels from the start: the 50-hour Level 1 foundation followed by the 95-hour Level 2 course. Level 2 includes Additional Needs and Anatomy & Physiology, so you do not need to buy those courses separately with this pathway.
Learn online. Bring the movement, play and connection into your own teaching.
Fit the training around your life
Studying in Australia, the United States or elsewhere? These online pathways are self-paced, so you can build your regular study time around work and family. Plan time to practise with children and complete the assessment as well as watching the lessons. If you are planning the Yoga Alliance RCYT pathway, contact our team to confirm eligibility and the required live-learning arrangements for your background; see the completion details below.
Starting out? Choose Level 1 for a practical foundation. You do not need to commit to both levels to begin.
Ready for both levels? Choose the Full Journey to follow the foundation and advanced course together.
Your course certificate follows the published completion requirements. Before enrolling for a specific school, studio or professional role, check that organisation’s qualification requirements and your insurer’s requirements. Our certification and recognition guide explains the separate professional-registration pathways.
Keep your purchase focused. The Teaching Kids Yoga book PDF is already included in Level 1 and the Full Journey. If you would also like a tool for organising your own classes, explore the Rainbow Yoga Class Builder as an optional, separate planning tool.
Use the country and currency selector for your market, then check the currency code and final amount at checkout. Online training does not require book shipping; a printed book added to your order has its own delivery charge.
You receive your enrolment confirmation and course access instructions by email. Find the format, fee and completion details on your course page. Contact us with any questions about getting started.
Will I receive a certificate?
Eligible trainings provide a certificate after the stated course requirements are completed. Review the specific product page for the certificate and completion details that apply to your pathway.
What do I need to complete for Level 1 online certification?
Level 1 includes study, reflection and a practical teaching assessment. Plan time to work with children as well as watching the course videos.
Complete every lesson. Watch the videos, read the lesson text, answer the prompt questions and mark each lesson complete.
Complete the FUN Exam. Answer all 30 questions correctly.
Plan and teach a short themed class. Include all four parts: Connect, Yoga Poses, Something Fun and Quiet Time. Teach at least two children and make room for their ideas and participation.
Submit your class plan, playlist and teaching video. Aim for a 10-minute class; the video must be no longer than 20 minutes. Show the complete class with your teaching and interactions audible. A phone recording is enough; a time-lapse does not meet the assessment instructions.
Give course feedback and complete the review process. Please allow up to 14 days for feedback on your teaching video.
If you need help arranging the practical assessment, contact us before enrolling so you understand what is required. Your Rainbow Yoga course certificate and any professional-body registration are separate.
What do I need to complete for Level 2?
Level 2 develops your teaching through ongoing practical work, with a trainer review before certification.
Watch all videos, read all lesson text and answer the prompt questions after every lesson.
Submit every required class plan and practice or teaching video.
Watch other students’ videos and give feedback where the lessons ask you to do so.
Answer all questions in every quiz correctly.
The training team reviews your submissions, checks your quizzes and evaluates the progress in your teaching practice before issuing your 95-hour Rainbow Yoga certificate. Follow the course’s graduation instructions to confirm the name you want on your certificate.
Planning the Yoga Alliance RCYT pathway? Rainbow Yoga’s course instructions require your final assessment class to be taught live on Zoom with Gopala attending. Contact the team to arrange this and confirm the required live learning and separate professional-registration eligibility for your background. The Full Journey combines Levels 1 and 2, so you complete the requirements of both levels.

How to choose an online kids yoga teacher training
Start with the children you want to work with and the kind of teaching you hope to offer. A useful training helps you plan a whole class, adapt when the group changes direction and make room for different ways of participating. Look at the learning activities and completion requirements as well as the course title.
Choose your starting level
Level 1 online kids yoga teacher training is the approximately 50-hour foundation. It includes games, stories, poses, breathing, mindfulness, partner and group yoga, and class planning. You do not need a previous yoga teaching qualification to begin.
Set aside time to experience an activity yourself, reflect on it and consider how it might work with your group. At two hours a week, a 50-hour course is roughly six months of study; at four hours a week, roughly three months. These are planning examples. Learning, practice and completion requirements matter more than racing through videos.
A Rainbow Yoga certificate follows successful completion of the published requirements for the relevant course. Professional-body registration is a separate process. Check the course details and the requirements of your intended workplace, insurer or professional body before enrolling if you need a particular form of recognition.
Find the right support for your setting
Teachers working with varied sensory, communication or movement needs can explore the Additional Needs and Inclusive Kids Yoga course. It is educational professional development, with an emphasis on choice, adaptation and participation.
Shared movement, shared smiles.Simple props. A world of imagination.
See the teaching approach before you enrol
Gopala Amir Yaffa, Rainbow Yoga’s co-founder and online trainer, has taught yoga since 1995. These teaching ideas give you a practical introduction to the movement, creativity and connection behind the training.
Let children help create the sequence. In seven playful Sun Dance ideas, explore a movement story, follow-the-leader and a wave of poses around a circle. Try one idea, invite children’s suggestions and adapt the movements to your group.
Make space for a classroom pause. Our yoga at school guide begins with comfortable movement and breathing that can fit beside a desk or in a small circle. Seated and quiet participation are welcome too.
Give teens a voice. Read seven ideas for teaching yoga to teenagers, including shared music choices and creative movement. Build with the group’s interests and respect each person’s boundaries.
As you watch, notice how a teacher invites participation, gives children time to respond and connects one part of the class to the next. Use those questions to reflect on your own teaching.

Ask where children could contribute an idea, and where you could offer a different way to join, watch or rest.
Level 1 helps you develop that class journey through learning, practice and assessed teaching.
The full courses develop these ideas through study, practice and assessment. Practise within your role and setting, invite choice, and follow consent and safeguarding procedures.
