Welcome to our Yoga For Mental Health Series!

In these 90-minute classes, we will discuss mental issues that affect and distress both young and old… But we will not stay on theory for too long! Each class will be full of practical experiential techniques that will benefit you right away and that you will also be able to share later on with the young people you might be working with.

Join us and let’s together take the steps to make our inner world and the world at large a bit better and brighter.

Anyone age 10 and up is welcome to join.

The world is paralyzingly not OK. You are not OK. Everything is not OK. But, this is the beauty of life… Later today or tomorrow or next week it will be ok.

Life is full of contrasts, of ups and downs, blacks and whites. This is the full human experience. 

If nothing would never happen to us, who would we be? We would be so flat and boring. Our experiences and how we overcame the tribulations make us the wonderful and strong people we are.

You In The Mirror - A Class About Self Love, Inner Beauty, and Body Awareness & Appreciation

Us… this is where it all begins. The way we think about ourselves is the way we will also tend to see the world. 

We are all mirrors of each other. We see everything through our own eyes. Everything we perceive is coloured by our personal inner thoughts and emotions. There is no real objectiveness, everything is subject to the interpretation of our inner world.

If you think good things about yourself, you will tend to see and interpret others’ words and actions as good. It all starts from the inside… Two people may have the same experience but take it in two very different ways depending on their inner state.

You want to be surrounded by love and happiness? You want to experience the world as a place that is generally good, beneficial and helpful towards your personal goals? The work has to start within.

Resilience - You Are Stronger Than You Think

Stuff happens.

Sometimes bad stuff happens.

We all have tough times in life.

Tough times require finding your courage and getting tougher, but staying soft at the same time as well.

Being resilient is getting back up after you fall.

And being better for it despite and because of it all somehow.

All children are capable of extraordinary things. There is no happiness gene, no success gene, and no ‘doer of extraordinary things’ gene. 

The potential for happiness and greatness lies in all of them, and will mean different things to different kids. 

We can’t change that they will face challenges along the way. What we can do is give them the skills so these challenges are never able to break them. We can build their resilience. 

Resilience is being able to bounce back from stress, challenge, tragedy, trauma or adversity. Wondering how to do this? The answers are in this class.

 

Surfing The Waves of Emotions - How To Deal Cope With Big Emotions Such As Depression & Anxiety

Our job in this class is to learn to surf the waves of our emotions, so we can stay afloat and enjoy life. If we manage our thoughts and feel our feelings, we are able to ride the waves with ease. 

Rather than get stuck and attached to our thoughts and feelings, we can choose to arrive fully to the shores of our bodies and minds.

For a lot of us, our emotions feel like giant ocean waves with big high swells and lower-than-normal troughs. If you try to control that kind of force, you will be beaten back to the shore, pounded with water, and end up exhausted and possibly even needing to be rescued.  

But if you can back off and watch the waves come through something different can happen.  Instead of fighting them, you can get skilful at riding them.

Life is giving us all some really big waves to ride sometimes. If you’re feeling stuck ask yourself if you’re trying to control the ocean, or if you're letting yourself ride the waves.
